Charlita Varner is the owner of Buttersweet Bakery and Charlita's Cakes. She creates wedding cakes, novelty cakes and pastries for corporations and individuals. Her cakes range from traditional to modern. Charlita began baking at age 8. Her childhood Easy-Bake oven ignited her interest in cooking. What started in girlhood as a playtime diversion is now paying off professionally for Charlita.
Her first baking job was at the former Dessert Place in Buckhead followed by positions at The Mansion Restaurant where she worked as a pastry cook and the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, where she started as a pastry cook, before being promoted to Pastry Sous Chef.
Charlita's creations have been featured on cable TLC's “A Wedding Story” and in several local and national magazines:"I Do"," Wedding Bells", "Atlanta Good Life" and "Brides Noir". Buttersweet Bakery has also been featured in the local Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper, as well as in "Bon Appetit"
